Glossary
- Directory A database where HiveDB stores the primary and secondary index mappings.
- Hive A complete, partitioned system.
- Node A SQL database where HiveDB stores a portion of its records.
- Partition Dimension The value upon which the data is split. This value is used to map records to nodes. Also called Primary Index.
- Partition Key An instance of the identifier by which the data is partitioned. Also called Primary Index Key
- Record A row in a data table
- Resource An entity in HiveDB with one or more primary or secondary indexes.
- Secondary Index A mapping of a value of a record to the record’s partition key
